Workshop: Colors of Brazil: Pandeiro, Caxixi & Rebolo
Learn the fundamentals and basic playing techniques for some of Brazil's most colorful and versatile percussion instruments: the Pandeiro ("pon-DAY-rue"), a small frame drum
with jingles, Caxixi ("cah-SHE-she") seed-filled gourd and bamboo shakers, and Rebolo ("hey-BOWL-oh") a bass drum played on it's side. Rhythms presented: Samba, Pagode, Baile Funk, Baiao. All Caxixi and some pandeiros & rebolos provided. Bring a conga, djembe or other hand drum.

Workshop: Insights into West African Rhythms
Ben Isaacs and Gabriel Harris share their unique instights into playing folkloric rhythms of the Manding empire from Guinee/Mali, West Africa. Workshop will include traditional arrangements as well as innovative exercises to strengthen your practice, no matter what your background. All levels welcome. Bring a djembe and/or djun-djun or use one of ours.

Workshop: Middle Eastern Percussion
All levels welcome, bring any drum, but darbouka (dumbek), riqq (Arabic tambourine), and frame drums encouraged. Learn some of the most popular rhythms in Middle Eastern music: Sa'idi, Maksoom, Malfoof, and Ayoub. Basic technique will be covered. Let's play!

Workshop: Afro-Cuban Makuta and Iyesa
Learn two exciting rhythm arrangements from Afro-Cuban Folkloric tradition: Iyesa and Makuta. Learn all interlocking drum rhythms and some of the songs that accompany the rhythms. Please bring a conga drum and two sticks. Some congas will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Learn the fundamentals of traditional Congolese rhythms: How to create the proper notes, hand/body positioning, folkloric rhythms Zebolah, Elima and more. Please bring djembes or congas. Some drums
